Policies
What the site does. What it does not do.
Here is the short version of how this website handles your notes, health information, external links, and community participation.
Privacy
Private by default, specific by design.
What this website does not use
The website has no advertising, analytics, tracking pixels, marketing cookies, user accounts, or forms that send your answers to us. The plan and reflection tools do not transmit what you write.
Optional plan storage
The quit plan can be saved in this browser only if you select the save checkbox. Saving is off by default. Someone using the same browser profile may be able to read a saved plan. Use "Delete saved copy" on the plan page to remove it.
Session-only tools
Notes in the craving tools and guided reflection stay only in the open page. They disappear when the page is closed or refreshed.
External destinations
Official resources, telephone links, downloads, and WhatsApp open only when you choose them. WhatsApp group members may see your phone number and profile information. WhatsApp, Meta, and other external services apply their own policies.
Health & safety
Education is not treatment.
Last Cigarette provides general educational material, reflection prompts, planning tools, and links to official resources. It does not provide medical or mental-health advice, diagnosis, treatment, emergency care, or personalized recommendations.
Speak with a qualified doctor, pharmacist, counselor, quitline, or tobacco service about treatment and your circumstances, especially during pregnancy or breastfeeding, while taking medicine, or while managing a physical or mental-health condition.
The timers and counters measure time only. They do not measure withdrawal, recovery, health change, or treatment success. Reflection tools are not therapy and cannot provide emergency help.
If you feel seriously unwell, unsafe, or have a medical emergency, contact your local emergency service.
Find trusted quitting help on the official resources page and in health.txt.
Community
Community guidelines.
The external WhatsApp group is intended for adults aged 18 and over. It is not confidential, continuously monitored, clinically supervised, or an emergency service.
- Speak from personal experience; do not diagnose, prescribe, or provide dosage instructions.
- Do not copy, screenshot, forward, or publish another member's content without explicit permission.
- No harassment, discrimination, shame, intimidation, or pressure.
- No tobacco or nicotine-product marketing, affiliate links, fundraising, recruitment, or unsolicited promotion.
- Do not post medical records, identification documents, home addresses, or information you need kept confidential.
- Use qualified services for treatment decisions and emergency services for urgent needs.
Moderators may remove content or participants to protect the group. Moderation does not guarantee privacy or safety. WhatsApp members can use WhatsApp's controls to leave, block, and report.
Accessibility
The page should not stand in the way.
The site is designed with semantic headings and landmarks, keyboard-accessible controls, visible focus, high-contrast colors, reduced-motion support, responsive layouts, plain labels, live status messages, and print styles.
The DOCX book is an editable, reflow-friendly alternative to the fixed-layout PDF. The website supports keyboard use, visible focus, zoom, reduced motion, and small screens.
If you are in the WhatsApp community and something is difficult to use, you may tell a moderator privately.
Terms
Simple terms for a free website.
Use the website for personal educational purposes. Do not rely on it as professional advice or emergency support. Do not attempt to disrupt the service, extract information about other people, impersonate Last Cigarette, or use its community to promote products or solicit members.
External resources, telephone services, WhatsApp, and word-processing software are controlled by their operators. Check their own terms and privacy information before using them.
The website is provided without a promise of uninterrupted availability or a guaranteed outcome. Essential health decisions should be made with appropriately qualified professionals.
Corrections
If something is wrong, it should be fixed.
Do not rely on information that appears inaccurate or unsafe. Use an official quitting service for health decisions.
If you are already in the WhatsApp community, you may send the page address and your concern privately to a moderator. Incorrect wording will be corrected or removed.
